About Us
A family-run software partner, twenty years in
We build and run software for blue-chip and public-sector clients from Burton-on-Trent, and have done since 2005. Our oldest client relationship started in 2001 and is still going.
Who we are
What you need can't be found on a shelf
We're a hard-working team of developers and business people with a rich history of custom software development and technical experience. Strengthened by commercial, forward-thinking attitudes, you get an understated approach that lets us explore the possibilities for your organisation in a down-to-earth, realistic and genuinely interesting way.
As a family-run business we have a set of values that guide how we work, with each other and with you: the cycle of learning, innovate, continuously improve, work together, aim high. We're a Real Living Wage employer, and we build accessible by default — because software that excludes people isn't finished.

We work with well-known blue-chip companies and with smaller and start-up businesses — all of whom know that what they need can't be found on a shelf.

Our story
Twenty years ago the job was building the thing
It still is. But most of the value now is in what happens afterwards.
2001
Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK
Toyota asked us to build the systems behind Recruitment, External Affairs and Health and Safety at its UK plants. We're still building and maintaining them today.
2004
The first bank
Our work with what is now BNP Paribas Personal Finance began in 2004. Two decades later we still develop and support the Creation web presence. With Toyota, it is one of the two relationships that shaped how we work.
2005
Haywyre LLP
The partnership was formally incorporated in Burton-on-Trent in October 2005. We have been here ever since, and we still answer the phone ourselves.
2020
Trails go digital
Making Trails asked us to put their first sculpture trail into visitors' pockets. Burton Swans launched that August and passed 2,000 downloads. Several trails later it has become a product in its own right.
2023
Accessible by default
We audited the BNP Paribas Personal Finance and Creation Finance sites to WCAG 2.1 AA, and rebuilt the Brewhouse Arts Centre site with East Staffordshire Borough Council. Accessibility stopped being a feature request and became how we build.
2026
Maintenance as a system
Automated build and deployment pipelines, security scanning on every release, production error monitoring and rehearsed rollbacks. Maintenance is no longer someone remembering to check something on a Tuesday. The work our clients never see is the work we are proudest of.
